The Gluten-Free & Allergen Stuff
-
Yes! Poppy is a gluten-free bakery. Everything we make is crafted without gluten, so you can browse our selection of breads, pastries, cookies, and other baked goods without having to wonder which treats are off-limits.
-
Poppy was created with the gluten-free community in mind, including people living with celiac disease. We are committed to maintaining a gluten-free environment and taking precautions to prevent gluten cross-contact.
-
Not all of our products are! Recipes vary, and some items may contain dairy, eggs, nuts, or other common allergens. Please ask us about a specific product if you have an allergy or dietary restriction. We want you to feel informed and comfortable with your choices.
-
No! We are a completely wheat-free bakery.
The Good Stuff
-
A little bit of everything we love! Our selection includes artisan breads, baguettes, focaccia, cookies, pastries, and seasonal treats. We’re always experimenting with new flavors, so there’s often something new to discover.
-
We believe gluten-free should never mean flavor-free. Poppy brings together the craft of baking and a thoughtful approach to ingredients to create products that feel indulgent, satisfying, and worth getting excited about. Think beautiful artisan bread, delicious pastries, and a little everyday magic all without the gluten.
-
We love finding thoughtful ways to bake, including using alternative grains and ingredients beyond traditional refined flours. Depending on the recipe, some of our products may offer nutritional benefits such as additional fiber.
Our founder is also a registered dietitian, so nutrition is part of how we think about baking. But we're not here to take the joy out of a good pastry. At Poppy, balance and indulgence belong together.

Keeping your goods fresh
-
For the best texture and flavor, enjoy your bread fresh! Store it in a paper bread bag or air-tight container at room temperature, and avoid refrigerating it, which can make bread dry out faster. Once cut, keep the cut side protected to help retain moisture.
-
Absolutely! The best way to freeze your bread is to slice your loaf before freezing so you can take out just what you need. Store the slices or loaf in a freezer-safe bag, removing as much excess air as possible.
Toast slices straight from frozen, or thaw larger portions at room temperature before reheating. For a whole or partially thawed loaf, a quick refresh in the oven at 350 degrees can help bring back that lovely crust.
-
Storage depends on the bake, but here are a few general guidelines:
Cookies: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain their texture.
Muffins: Store in a covered container at room temperature and enjoy within a few days, or freeze individually for later.
Pastries: Many are best enjoyed the day of purchase.
Pound cakes and other cakes: Store in a covered container at room temperature and enjoy within a few days, or freeze for later. Some varieties may require refrigeration.
When in doubt, ask us! We'll happily point you in the right direction for your favorite treat.
